Doak was born September 8, 1924, in Seamen, Ohio a son of the late John and Rebecca Meade Chikldress. Doak was a United States Navy Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Tucker Childress; two brothers and three sisters.
