Ralph David McCloud

Ralph David McCloud, 85, of Greenup, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 5, 2026, at his home.

David was born April 6, 1941, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of the late Edgar and Ruth Bellomy McCloud.

David was a 1959 graduate of the former Wurtland High School and retired from C & O Railroad as a blacksmith. He was a member of the Wurtland Freewill Baptist Church where he was a deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Bible Study Teacher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Oretha Gay Coffee McCloud.

He is survived by his daughter Cheryl McCloud of Wurtland, Kentucky; extended family Melvin “Bo” McDaniels Jr. of Greenup Kentucky; Melvin’s children Olivia McDaniels, Makenna McDaniels, Taylor McDaniels, and Jayden McDaniels; a sister Donna Gleason of Wurtland, Kentucky; a special friend of the family Melinda Stewart of Wurtland, Kentucky; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00pm, Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky, by Bro. Randy Smith.  Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods, Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time on Wednesday.
