William "Bo" Ryan McCarty

William “Bo” Ryan McCarty, 41, of, Argillite, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at UK Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky from a sudden illness. Bo was born December 24, 1984, a son of William “Bubby” and Tracy Hoff McCarty of Argillite, Kentucky.

Bo was a 2003 graduate of Greenup County high School and attended Lloyd Nazarene Church.  He was an avid dirt racing fan where he was a regular at the Portsmouth Racetrack and raced modified race cars for years. He enjoyed car shows and attended the Pigeon Forge Tennessee “Rod Run” car show every year with his family. He attended the Mid-American Truck Show every year also.  Bo loved anything that had wheels.  Bo was a 3^rd generation truck driver and had driven a truck for 21 years. It was probably one of his favorite things to do, and he enjoyed driving with his dad and Jace his son, riding along with him often.  Bo deeply loved his family and was at every sporting or school event for his daughter and son. He was a wonderful husband, father, and son.  Bo will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

 He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather James Alfred Hoff and his paternal grandparents Ivol C. and Lois Prater McCarty.

In addition to his parents, Bo is survived by his loving wife of 18 years Ashley Kristen Law McCarty; a son Jace McCarty; a daughter Peighton McCarty; maternal grandmother Garnet Roark Madsen of Argillite, Kentucky; special uncles Chad McCarty of Argillite, Kentucky, Jay (Sue) Hoff Auburndale, Florida, and Tony Hoff of Raceland, Kentucky; a host of aunts, uncle and good friends.

A celebration of life will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Friday, September 11, 2026, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky.
