Russell “Rusty” Bays, 70, of Ashland, Kentucky, formerly of Greenup, Kentucky passed away Friday February 19, 2016 at his residence in Ashland.

Rusty was born October 30, 1945 in Greenup, Kentucky a son of the late Robert Lee “Pud” and Thelma “Tootsie” Helton Bays.

Rusty was owner of Bays Auto Parts in Greenup, Kentucky for 45 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son Phillip Bays.

He is survived by

Two sons

Robert Michael and Brenda Bays of Temple, Texas

Russell “Rocky” Bays of Winchester, Kentucky

One daughter Angela and Richard Riffe of Greenup, Kentucky

His companion of 6 years Annette Greene

One brother Clemont “Bubby” and Karlene Bays of Greenup, Kentucky

Six Grandchildren Whitley Bays, Amber Riffe, Rikki Riffe, Ceana Bays, Alex Bays, and Samantha Bays

One Great Granddaughter MeKenzie Patterson

Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday February 22, 2016 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Bro. Danny Brown. Burial will be in McGuire Cemetery in Greenup, Kentucky

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm on Sunday and 1 hour before the service on Tuesday.
