Wanda Jean Carter Middleton, 90, of Greenup, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 2, 2025, at South Shore Nursing and Rehab. Wanda was born February 26, 1935, in Fullerton, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Spencer Thomas and Lelia VanHoose Carter.
Wanda was a member of the Baptist church. She loved to play the piano, read poems, color, go to church, and read her Bible. She was a very witty but kindhearted and gentle loving lady who loved her family and grandchildren very much. She will be greatly missed by so many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Everett Clayton Middleton; two brothers Thomas Carter and Carl Carter; one sister Helen Carter Traylor; and nephews and niece whom she was very fond of Richard Traylor, Mike Carter and Karen Carter Newell.
She is survived by one daughter Diana (Duane) Grayson of Greenup, Kentucky; one granddaughter Jamie (Milas) Pierce of South Shore, Kentucky; four grandchildren Sydanie (Tyler) Salyers, Kaylee Wells, Klay Wells, and Zaiden Pierce; nieces and nephews Wes (Lou) Carter, Steve Traylor, Philip Traylor, Keith (Ann) Carter, Kathy “Catfish” Munn; and special friend Debbie Allen of South Shore, Kentucky.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Tim Underwood. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery in South Shore, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time on Thursday. The family would like to thank South Shore Nursing Home staff and hospice staff for the wonderful caregiver.
