Tammy Tomlin

Tammy Tomlin, 58, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home on December 25, 2025, after a long battle with chronic illness. Born on September 27, 1967, Tammy was the youngest child of Ernest Tomlin and Geraldine Nolen Tomlin, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Justin Tyler Hall, her sister, Ruth Ann Artrip; and her niece, Kayla Tomlin.

Tammy is survived by her siblings Tonda Porter, Alan Tomlin, and Rhonda Tomlin; her children Autumn Hoover, Emily Trout, and her niece, Kristina Whitt, who was more like a daughter to her than a niece. She is also survived by her nephews Anthony Mays and Joshua Artrip as well as her loving partner, Ronald Grubb, who was faithfully by her side and with her at the end.

Tammy worked for many years at King’s Daughters Medical Center and Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, where her honesty, compassion, and unmistakable sense of humor left a lasting impression on coworkers and patients alike.

Tammy was a true free spirit. She was funny, outspoken, and never afraid to say what everyone else was thinking. She loved to laugh—deeply and often—and believed life was better with loud music, the car windows down, and nowhere in particular to be. She had a special talent for embarrassing her kids, a skill she perfected and used proudly.

Above all else, Tammy’s heart belonged to her grandchildren: Arianna, Aisley, Benjamin, Justin, Maicie, Amber, and Russell. They were her greatest joy, her pride, and her light, even on the hardest days.

Tammy never liked goodbyes. She didn’t believe in them. It was always, “Later.” In keeping with her wishes and that spirit, there will be no formal funeral service. Instead, she will be remembered through stories, laughter, music turned up too loud, and the love she leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help with Tammy’s final expenses through Reed Funeral Home. More than anything, they ask that you honor her by remembering her laugh, turning the music up a little louder, and choosing “later” over goodbye.

There will be no services at this time Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky has been entrusted with arrangements.
