Roger Sawyers, 73, of Worthington, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at The Sanctuary of Ohio Valley in Ironton, Ohio. Mr. Sawyers was born August 19, 1948, in Huntington, West Virginia a son of the late Kermit and Ruth Elkins Sawyers. He was a United States Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam war. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Richard Sawyers and Kermit Sawyers Jr.; and two sisters Sandy Taylor and Elizabeth Merz. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Anita Maynard Sawyers; one son Jody (Heidi) Sawyers of Licking, Ohio; one daughter Tonya (John)Baldwin of Saline, Arkansas; two brothers Gary Sawyers of Huntington, West Virginia and Leroy (Connie) Sawyers of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; four grandchildren Luke, Lance, Brianna, and Madelyn; and several other family members and close friends who will miss him greatly. Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday April 4, 2022, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Monday.
