Richard Allen Cozart, 59, of Greenup, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Richard was born January 14, 1966, in Morehead, Kentucky, a son of Dorothy Jean Wallace Jones of Greenup, Kentucky and the late Kenneth Wayne Jones.


Richard was a 1984 graduate of Greenup County High School and had worked as a manager at several fast-food restaurants throughout the Tri-State area for many years. He loved traveling on cruise ships with his family and friends. He was an avid collector of country music memorabilia and enjoyed visiting Nashville any chance he could get. Richard loved collecting everything from glassware, Hallmark ornaments, art and many other things. He also enjoyed doing 5Ks for charities. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister Carnetta Firkins.


In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother Jerry and his wife Dodie Jones Lloyd, Kentucky; a sister Heidi and her husband Glen Goldie of Morehead, Kentucky; nieces and nephews, Casey, Jessica, Matthew, Mindy, Jennifer, Jordan, Zachary, and Lacey; a good friend David Compton of Huntington, West Virginia.


A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, June 30, 2025, at Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd, Kentucky by Dr. Tom Melvin.

Reed Funeral Home in Greenup has been entrusted with the arrangements.
