Randy Thacker
Randy “Pete” Thacker, 62, of Greenup, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 2, 2021, at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky due to Covid-19. Randy was born February 16, 1959, in Pike County, Kentucky, a son of the late Homer and Neva Hopkins Thacker. He attended Serenity Baptist Church in Greenup, Kentucky. He had a great love for the Lord. He loved farming, horses, cattle, going to horse shows, barrel racing, and pole bending. He attended and competed at horse shows all over the country with his late and beloved horse May B Billy Madison “Billy”. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and family dearly. He had a great passion for sports. He played football and basketball for the Belfry Pirates, after which he went on to play football at EKU. He was a former member of the Greenup County Fair Board. He was a member of the National Barrel Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Madison Aleise Blair; and two brothers Ronald Thacker and Jack Thacker, who was his best friend.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Kim Horton Thacker.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday October 6, 2021, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor John Reed. Burial will be in McGinnis-Baker Cemetery in Greenup, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
