Phillip “Bud” Eugene Griffith Jr., 57, of Huntington, West Virginia passed away Monday, July 7, 2025, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Phillip was born June 2, 1968, in Marion, Ohio a son of Mary Jane Hancock Griffith and the late Phillip E. Griffith Sr. He was a 1986 graduate of Greenup County High School and was a huge fan of the band Kiss, loved heavy metal music, and NHRA Drag Racing.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother Mark Allen Griffith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 7 years Connie Burton Smith; one son Justin Griffith of Greenup, Kentucky; one step son Austin Lee (Kaitlin) Smith of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; one grandson Joseph Griffith; one step grandson Grayson Smith; and very special friends “Wolfie” Barker of Greenup, Kentucky and Sherman Baker of Greenup, Kentucky.
Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Friday July 11, 2025, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Bro. Chris Bellew. Burial will be in Plum Grove-Collins Cemetery in Greenup, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home and one hour before the service on Friday.
