Madison Aleisa Blair
Madison Aleise Blair, 18, of Greenup, Kentucky passed away Saturday March 20, 2021 in Bardstown, Kentucky due to an automobile accident. Madison was born November 27, 2002 daughter of Brian Blair of Bardstown, Kentucky and Michelle Blair of Ashland, Kentucky.
She was raised by her loving grandparents, Randy and Kim Thacker in Greenup and grew up on their farm with best friend and sister, Morgan Blair, 16, and lil bro’ Eli Peterman, 14. She had other siblings in Bardstown whom she had recently spent a lot of time with - Keith, 15, Brianna 11 and Hartlyn 7. She had also spent time recently with her sister, McKenna Adkins, 22.
Maddie also leaves behind a special aunt who was more like a sister and helped to raise her, Becky Thacker-Mann and her husband, Michael and their kids, Lilah and Benton, who will miss her dearly. Maddie was the current President of the Greenup County FFA as well as the Vice President of the Big Sandy region. She was a senior at Greenup County High School and had been accepted to the University of Louisville where she planned to start in the fall.
She loved taking Morgan and Eli out on the farm for random photo shoots. She loved her horses and was an accomplished barrel racer, having won many high-point awards and belt buckles. She loved foaling season and helping with the new foals, spending many nights in the barn just watching and waiting. She LOVED to sing, especially in church. She loved public speaking and debating and was accomplished at both.
She loved helping her “Pops” with the cattle and was involved with putting up the hay and all things “farm”. She was the first to admit that her strong work ethic was a direct result of her farm life, and she was proud of that. She was currently employed at ITSUWA-Ky in Bardstown, and that work ethic had already brought about her first promotion after less than two months. She planned to continue working through college.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday March 25, 2021 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor John Reed. Burial will be in Baker-McGinnis Cemetery in Greenup. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday March 24, 2021 at the funeral home and one hour before the service on Wednesday. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
