James “Tudor” Floyd Blevins, 82, of Argillite, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. James was born May 9, 1943, in Oldtown, Kentucky, a son of the late Nickie and Sara Myrtle Rose Blevins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Erma Jean Blevins; one granddaughter Hannah Christian; two brothers Arnold Rose and Chester Rose; and three sisters Sherline McCarty, Geraldine Bradford, and Phyllis Speta
James attended Plum Grove Baptist Church and was an avid gardener. He dedicated his career to the field of heavy equipment mechanic, retiring from Whayne Supply with 40 years of service, known for his dedication, work ethic, and where he made life long friendships.
He is survived by three daughters Angela (Rick) James, Gretta (Jim) Belt, and Kathy (McKinley) Christian all of Argillite, Kentucky; one sister Ruth Brown of Argillite, Kentucky; seven grandchildren Cameron (Jessie) Blevins of Argillite, Bradley Belt of Argillite, Ross James of Ashland, Kentucky, Peyton James of Pleasant Hill, Ohio, Brandon Belt of Argillite, Kentucky, McKinzie Christian of Argillite, McKinley “Trey” Christian of Argillite; Kentucky; two great grandsons Briar Blevins and Rylan Rogers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Bro. Danny Brown. Burial will be in East Carter Memory Gardens in Grayson, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 8. 2025 at the funeral home and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
