Gregory Harold Russell

Gregory Harold Russell, 78, of Otway, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 26, 2025. He passed peacefully with his loving family at his bedside. Greg was born June 30, 1947 in Glen Alum, West Virginia, a son of the late Hershel and Kansas Ferrell Russell. He loved fishing, working with old cars, and spending time with his family. He had a soft spot for his dogs and raised plenty of them from puppies over the years. He also enjoyed going to the dog track or trying his luck at the casino.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Kathy Gilliam Russell and two brothers Beveran “Happy” Russell and Douglas Pemberton.

 

He is survived by three daughters Tonya (James) Fisher of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Candy (Roy) Hodge of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Lindsey Verne of West Portsmouth, Ohio; one son Gregory (Kristi) Russell of West Portsmouth, Ohio; three sisters Beverly Terry of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, Diane (Gene) Greeson of Spokane, Washington. And Marsha (Dave) Fisher of Canton, Ohio; one brother Brent Russell of Elmer, New Jersey; seven grandchildren Jimmy, Miranda, Taylor, Brianna, Kaydan, Colt, and Chevelle; two great granddaughters Stormie and Harloe; many nieces and nephews he loved; and his special friend Julie Wilds of Otway, Ohio.

 

Graveside service will be conducted at Haver Hill Cemetery following the visitation on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm- 2:00 pm on Wednesday at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky. Family has requested in lieu of flowers donation may be made towards funeral expenses.
