Earnest L. Rickett, 71, of South Portsmouth, Kentucky passed away Monday July 21, 2025, at SOMC Hospice Care Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. Earnest was born April 22,1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son of the late Earnest Bruce and Betty Jane Bell Rickett. He was a retired truck driver, enjoyed working on old trucks, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Teddy Ray Rickett, Tracy S. Rickett, and Eddie Rickett; two sisters Patricia Rickett and Brenda Rickett; one grandson Brett Osborne.

 

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Garnett Porter Rickett; two sons Tony Rickett of Cincinnati, Ohio and Tracy L. Rickett of Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters Ashley Rickett of South Portsmouth, Kentucky and Jennifer Rickett of South Portsmouth, Kentucky; three brothers Charlie (Dana) Rickett of Vanceburg, Kentucky, James (Sonja) Rickett of Tennessee, and Bruce Rickett of Quincy, Kentucky; five sisters Barb Rickett of Garrison, Kentucky, Betty Joe Rickett of Quincy, Kentucky, Imogene Rickett of Quincy, Kentucky, Jamie Rickett of Vanceburg, Kentucky, Kristi Rickett of South Shore, Kentucky; fifteen grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

 

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Crystal Dawn Cemetery in Quincy, Kentucky by Minister Raymond Lewis. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.

Lee was great grandpa to my son and father in-law to me . He sure will be missed by many but will be remembered for alot of memories we all have with him. We loved him dearly and prayers are with his wife and rest family.
