Hazel Pennington Lee

Hazel Pennington Lee. 86, of Worthington, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 8, 2020 at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky surrounded by her family. Mrs. Lee was born September 26, 1933 in Greenup County, Kentucky a daughter of the late Hollie Harrison and Beatrice Elizabeth Castle Cavin. She was a lifetime Christian and a faithful member of the Wurtland First Missionary Baptist Church in Wurtland, Kentucky. She shared the love of God every opportunity she was given. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother (Nanny) and caregiver to anyone in need, working as a nurse aide and home health care for KDMC. She loved working in her rose garden and visiting with family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wetzel Zane Lee; two daughters Linda Spears and Sandra Woods; two sisters Doris Hensley, Joyce Baldrige; one half -brother Carl Cavin and a loving friend Nell Sizemore.

She is survived by one son Jerry (Cheryl) Pennington of Raceland, Kentucky; one daughter Donna (Mike) Maddox of Russell, Kentucky; one brother James (Sakuko) Cavin of North Highlands, California; seven grandchildren Todd (Sandy) Arrowood, Christopher Woods, Amanda (Roger) Covert, Jared Pennington, Ashley (Levi) Dalton, Casey Mayo, Lucas Mayo, two extended grandchildren Jeffrey Mates and Mary Lee; seven great-grandchildren Hunter Arrowwood, Autumn Arrowwood, Haley Woods, Emily Woods, Jayden Woods, Terran Covert, Kendal Covert; two great-great grandchildren Brandalynn Mize, and Zavarli Mize; and many many friends. Hazel will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 12, 2020 by Pastor J.R. Gullett. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Kentucky.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 - 9:00 pm and one hour before the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
