Rita Johnson

Rita Johnson, 83, 0f Greenup, Kentucky went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Rita was born April 25, 1936 in Rising Sun, Indiana a daughter of the late James R. and Marie Edmonson Johann.

Rita was a 1954 graduate of Lewis County High School. She was a former clerk for Stultz Pharmacy in Greenup for many years. She was a member of the Greenup Christian Church where she was involved in the Women on a Mission, Sunday School teacher for 22 years and helped with special events at the church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl Thomas Johnson; three brothers William Johann, Jimmy Johann and John Johann; three sisters Wilma Smith, Norma Staph and Elva Jean Johann; Several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by two daughters Cheryl (Tommy) Fannin of Ashland, Kentucky and Michelle (Mike) Lykins of South Point, Ohio; two grandchildren Johanna Griffith and Makayla Lykins.

There will be a private graveside service on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Kentucky by Pastor Mike Dennis.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, Kentucky.

Reed Funeral Home in Greenup are in charge of services.
