Henry Barney Jr.


Henry Barney Jr., 80, of Lloyd, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Monday, December 16, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky surrounded by his family who loved him dearly.

Henry was born July 27, 1939 in Greenup, Kentucky son of the late Henry Sr. and Bessie Ratliff Barney.

Henry was a retired conductor from CSX Railroad. He was a member of the Bible Chapel Church for 25 years in West Portsmouth. Henry was also a member of the United Transportation Union #1377. He loved to garden and give it away to friends and family, but most importantly Henry loved to read his bible.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Matthew Barney, Herman Barney and Thurman Barney; five sisters Delores Barney, Bernice Tolliver, Pauline Robertson, Irene Coffee and Eva Mae Arthur.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Nanda (Patton) Barney; one son Randall (Beth) Barney of Minford, Ohio; two daughters Kimberly (Marvin) Tussey and Stephanie (Adam) Harris both of Lloyd, Kentucky; four brothers James (Miriam) Barney of Lakeland, Florida, John (Shirley) Barney of Zephyrhills, Florida, Thomas Herbert Barney of Ashland, Kentucky and Paul (Melva) Barney of Lloyd, Kentucky; nine grandchildren Nicholas (Stephanie) Barney, Kala (Anthony)Slusher, Brandi (Sean) Carter, Travis Tussey, Joshua Barney, Olivia McKenzie, Emma Barney, Ava Harris and Isalee Barney; five great-grandchildren Hailey Barney, Alyssa Barney, Ella Barney, Karsyn and Cruz Slusher; two step-grandchildren Madison and Jackson Harris; special friends Delbert Jordon of Portsmouth, Ohio, George and DeAnn Brown of Lloyd; a host of nieces, nephews and family that loved him dearly and that will miss him greatly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Lloyd Church of the Nazarene by Ministers Jack Lore and Danny Blevins. Burial will be in the Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd.

Visitation will from 10:00 am until service time at the Church.

Reed Funeral Home in Greenup have been entrusted with the arrangements.
