Ashton "Charlie" Charles

Ashton “Charlie” Charles, 84, of Lloyd, Kentucky passed away Tuesday August 13, 2019 at Bridgeport Health Care in Portsmouth, Ohio. Mr. Charles was born July 16, 1935 in McVeigh, Kentucky a son of the late George T. and Hester (Fife) Charles. Ashton attended the First Baptist Church in Lloyd, Kentucky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Alice (Lewis) Charles; one son Ashton Van “Chuckie” Charles; one daughter Alice Elizabeth Charles; four brothers Earl, George, Fred and Paul Charles; four sisters Mary Augusta Charles-Smith, Mildred Charles-Fields, Beulah Charles-Jennings, and an infant sister.

He is survived by one son Larry (Dianna) Charles of Greenup, Kentucky

one daughter Anita Lewise (Chuck) Stewart of Bloomington, Texas

one brother James Charles of Greenup, Kentucky

two sisters Catherine Charles-Smith of Cynthiana, Kentucky Jenny Gale Charles-Cumberledge of Ventura California

five grandchildren Christopher (Monica) Charles, Amanda (Michael) Tomasovich, John (Natasha) Kent, Leslie Knipp, and Josh Braden

fourteen great-grandchildren Ashlynn, Brooklyn, Chase, Olivia, Madelyn, Charli, Winter, Van, Griffin, Lexi, Landon, Hudson, Hannah and Abigail

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday August 17, 2013 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Russ Foster. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Saturday. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
