Virgil Adkins

Virgil Adkins, 92, of Greenup, Kentucky passed away Friday June 28, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. Mr. Adkins was born September 3, 1926 in Grassy Creek, Kentucky a son of the late Melvin and Lilly Blare Adkins. Virgil was a United States Army Veteran and served in the World War II. He was a Greenup volunteer fireman, former member of Greenup Jaycees, and a member of the American Legion in Raceland.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son Grover Adkins, two brothers, and one sister.

Melinda White, Terra Adkins, Amie Rhoden, Kristi (Bill) Kohm, Brent (Jennifer) Martin, and Jeff (Amanda) Martin;
eight great grandchildren
Hannah Kohm, Hadley Kohm, Brynn Martin, Jeff Martin, Reese Martin, Cameron White, Mekynna White, and Paige White.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday July 2, 2019 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Kenneth Martin. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup, Kentucky. Military rites will be performed by American Legion Post 93. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday and one hour before the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers donations
