Vernon Reacel Prince

Vernon Reacel Prince, 58, of Oldtown, Kentucky went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, July 25, 2018 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. Mr. Prince was born February 26, 1960 a son of the late Vernon and Pearlie Wilburn Prince. Although Reacel left this world too soon, he leaves a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. He had a deep passion for his hometown, Kentucky Basketball, the Cincinnati Reds, the Scioto Ribber, and United Dairy Farmer’s peach ice cream. He was a 1978 graduate of Greenup County High School. In 2005 he received his Master’s Degree from Ohio University in counseling. As a proud alumnus of Berea College, Reacel also served his country in the United States Navy. He worked as a youth counselor at Mended Reeds Mental Health in Ironton, Ohio. Reacel was a member of Greenup First Baptist Church. He married his high school sweetheart, Anita Archey in 2005 and they lived life to the fullest together. Perhaps one of Reacel’s proudest accomplishments was being Nick Yancey’s chosen dad. While the last several years of his life had its share of ups and downs including a kidney transplant, Anita lovingly cared for her soulmate, Reacel.
