Grover Adkins

Grover Adkins, 68, of Lloyd, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Friday March 9, 2018 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Adkins was born August 24, 1949 in Williamson, West Virginia a son of Virgil and Billie Newman Adkins of Greenup, Kentucky

He attended First Baptist Church of Lloyd. He enjoyed fishing with his fishing buddy Ron Horn. Grover was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly. Grover and his wife were the former owners of Adkins Market in Lloyd.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Vicky Cales Adkins; two daughters Melinda White of Lloyd, Kentucky and Terra Adkins of Flatwoods, Kentucky; two sisters Connie (Pete) Martin of Lloyd, Kentucky and Trina (Earl) Kirk of Greenup, Kentucky; three grandchildren Cameron White, Mekynna White, and Paige White; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend Maddison Pennington of Lloyd, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday March 14, 2018 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup. Burial will be in Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 9:00 pm on Tuesday and one hour before the service on Wednesday. Condolences may be made at rlrfuneralhome.com.
