William Russell Blanton

William Russell Blanton, 68, of Greenup, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Blanton was born May 20, 1949 in Argillite, Kentucky a son of the late John and Ruby Mildred Litteral Blanton.

William was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved watching NASCAR and being with his grandchildren. He was a highly decorated United States Army Veteran. He loved his extended family just as much as he loved his immediate family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Robert Blanton and Phillip Blanton; one sister Brenda Higgins; and one grandbaby.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Gail Davis Blanton

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday March 3, 2018 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Tim Wright. Burial will be in Blanton Cemetery in Argillite, Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Saturday.
