Anna Jane Justice

Anna Jane Justice, 96, of Lloyd. Kentucky passed away Thursday January 11, 2018 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints, Psalm 116:15. Mrs. Justice was born January 9, 1922, the oldest of eleven children, in Argillite, Kentucky a daughter of the late Sam and Martha Poplin Bays. She married Glenard Justice in 1939. Early in their marriage they shared the loss of a tiny daughter, Carolyn Genevieve then raised five sons and a daughter together. Mrs. Justice was known as a woman of faith. Her life greatly resembled the woman of Proverbs 31. She was a homemaker and seamstress for many years and later worked as a cook at Greenup County High School where she retired in 1987. Her later years were spent creating handmade heirloom quality quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents and daughter she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Glenard Justice; a granddaughter Stephanie “Stevie” Justice; four brothers Charles Hubert Bays, Andy Bays, Delbert Bays, and Floyd Bays; and three sisters Mary Leota Bays, Gladys Reed, and Marcella “Sally” Lyons. Her life is celebrated today by her children Dennis (Carolyn) Justice, Gary (Betty) Justice, Richard (Sally) Justice, Daryl (Linda) Justice, Kathy (Michael) Wallace, and Anthony (Anita) Justice; grandchildren Bryan (Tami) Justice, Mark (Jody) Justice, Dawn (Donald) Spainhower, Kimberly (Tony) Rison, Andrea Alley, Melissa (Kenny) Kidd, Elaina (Matt) McCormick, Anthony (Jennifer) Justice, Amanda (Bret) Collins; twenty-one precious great grandchildren, Dylan, Rees, and Sawyer Justice, Andrew and Laura Spainhower, Amberly, Ashley, and Alyssa Rison, Heather Adkins, Jesse Nugent, Carson and Jonathan Justice, Matthew, Jason, and Michaela Alley, David, Anna Jane, and Jonathan Kidd, Madelyn Collins, Cooper and Ivy Mae Justice; one great-great-grandson Zeppelin Adkins; her brother John “Joe” Bays; sisters Rita “Kay” Brisker and Linda Potts; a multitude of nieces and nephews; many friends; and church family at Grace Independent Baptist Church in Greenup. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday January 15, 2018 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Gary Arthurs. Burial will be in Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday and one hour before the service on Monday.
