Doyle Clifford Barney

Doyle Clifford Barney, 71, of Wurtland, Kentucky passed away, Saturday, June 6, 2015 at KDMC in Ashland, Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Barney was born November 6, 1943 in Wurtland, a son of the late Everett and Lucille Brown Barney.
Doyle worked for over thirty years at C&O and later CSX. He was a proud carman and union leader. His years at the railroad took him to many locales including Newport News, VA, Wall Bridge, OH, and Pine Bluff, AK. He made numerous friends wherever he worked.
Doyle retired in 1992 but his retirement did not signify the end of his working years. He was a carpenter, roofer, plumber, mechanic and sage. His friends and family would intuitively “Call Doyle” for advice and assistance on projects, big and small.
Adored by his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Doyle was generous and made sure his family was always taken care of. And although he never ran for public office, many in his community referred to him as “Mayor of Wurtland.” He will be greatly missed by all.
