Rebecca “Becky” Lou Harris

Rebecca “Becky” Lou Harris, 77, of Greenup, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky, surrounded by her loving family. Becky was born on December 12, 1947, in Tranquility, Ohio a daughter of the late Johnnie and Josephine Hinnant Little.

 

She graduated as the salutatorian of the former Wurtland High School Class of 1966, was a member of Greenup Christian Church where she taught Sunday school for four and five year olds for 39 years. Becky was the bookkeeper for Country Bow-Kay for 15 years and retired as a bookkeeper for the Greenup Library after many years of service. She enjoyed camping and was especially known for her delicious cakes, which she loved to bake.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one baby girl Jessica Harris and one baby boy Jason Harris.

 

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Clayton E. Harris; one daughter Julie (Bobby) Hall of Greenup, Kentucky; one brother Steve (Marie) Little of Pikeville, North Carolina; one sister Vicki (Jon) Hensley of Argillite, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.

 

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Greenup Christian Church in Greenup, Kentucky by Pastor Mike Dennis and David Stultz. Burial will be in Everman Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Saturday at the church.
