James Walter Tolliver

James Walter Tolliver, 81, of Flatwoods, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky surrounded by his loving family. James was born November 3, 1940, in Ashland, Kentucky a son of the late Vernon and Thelma Caines Tolliver.

He was retired from AK Steel and was a member of Flatwoods Freewill Baptist Church. James loved spending time with all his grandchildren and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Jamie Dishman; a brother Darrell Tolliver and a sister Jean Wheeler.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Mary Lou Baber Tolliver; a daughter Angie Bates of Russell, Kentucky; five grandchildren Tracy, Jessica, Jimmy, Whitney, and Kayla; thirteen great-grandchildren Zachary, Madison, Joey, Jeremiah, Noah, Jaydon, J.R. Matthew, Emily, Sophia, Paisleigh, Baylee, and Jake; two great-great grandchildren, Asher, and Lucas; two nieces.

Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 pm Friday, July 8. 2022, at Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, Kentucky by Bro. Danny Brown. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be made be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
