Isadore "Jerry" Jarrott Bates Jr.
Isadore “Jerry” Jarrott Bates Jr., 63, of Flatwoods, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Monday July 5, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his family. Jerry was born August 9, 1957, in Russell, Kentucky a son of the late Isadore J. and Nellie Mae (Morgan) Bates. He was a retired truck driver for the Teamsters Local Union 505. He was a family man who adored his loving wife, loved his two daughters and 6 grandchildren with all his heart. Jerry loved spending quality time with his brothers and grandchildren, going fishing, hunting, car shows, and watching NASCAR. Jerry was a member of Hoods Creek Baptist Church, who was ready to meet the Lord. He will always be remembered as the hardworking, caring, compassionate man, who loved his family dearly. His family sure loved him as well, many calling him their “HERO”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Steven Bates; two sisters Alice Bates and Patricia Hartman; one grandson Izaiah Law; and a special niece Lisa Mooney.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Jodi Suzanne Stevens Bates

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday July 8, 2021, at Hoods Creek Baptist Church by Pastor Kevin Fraley and Bro. Steve Fraley. Burial will be in Bates Cemetery in Greenup, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time at the church. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky is in charge of services.
