Cheryl Ann Fitzgerald Posey
Cheryl Ann Fitzgerald Posey, 62, of Greenup, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky surrounded by her loving family. Cheryl was born June 9, 1961, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of Ross and Martha Fitzgerald of Portsmouth, Ohio and the late Frances Holsinger Bays.
Cheryl was a 1979 graduate of Minford High School. She worked as a manager at McDonalds in Wheelersburg, Ohio for 21 years and then worked as a clerk at Stultz Pharmacy in Greenup for 15 years. She attended and sang at the Church of Jesus Christ in Blue Creek, Ohio for most of her life. Cheryl enjoyed traveling, playing her guitar, and singing with her sisters. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them and playing cards on the weekends as a family.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two brothers William Hayslip and Luke Fitzgerald.
She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years Wesley David Posey; three daughters Jennifer (Adam) Kazee of Greenup, Kentucky, Amanda (Elijah) Posey of Raceland, Kentucky, and Krystal Posey of Ironton, Ohio; one son David (Jam) Posey of Ironton, Ohio; two brothers Mark (Stacey) Fitzgerald of Minford, Ohio and Jason Bays of Greenup, Kentucky; five sisters Barbara Hamilton of Greenup, Kentucky, Lisa (Clayton) Reed of Greenup, Kentucky, Sida (Herman) Smith of Lloyd, Kentucky, Sheila (Cliff) Toppins of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Donna Grooms of West Portsmouth, Ohio; seven grandchildren Leslie (Bruce Wright) Lambert, Rodney (Alex) Lambert Jr., Madison Posey, Lakyn Posey, Halle Posey, Mason Kazee, and Anna Kazee; three great grandchildren Ben, Willow, and Lawson; and several other family members and friends who will miss her greatly.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky. Burial will be in Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com
