Arlene Nicely, 88, formerly of Wurtland, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, December 1, 2025, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
Arlene was born January 29, 1937, in Boyd County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Arlie and Esther Evans Robinson. Arlene was a 1955 graduate of the former Ashland High School and worked many years at Ashland Oil in the payroll department.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Harold Gene Robinson and a sister Catherine Lavender.
She is survived by two daughters Cheryl (Jerry) Pennington of Raceland, Kentucky and Teresa (Greg) Stengel of Louisville, Kentucky; a brother William Ronald (Anna) Robinson of Flatwoods, Kentucky; four grandchildren Jarrod Pennington, Ashley (Levi) Dalton, Megan (Michael) Bramos and Alex (Kate) Stengel; Six great-grandchildren Cameron, Lucas, Emma, Jacob, Reagan, and Nash.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday January 2, 2026 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky has been entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences may be made atwww.rlrfuneralhome.com
Cheryl, my most sincere condolences on the loss of your Mom. I know it's been a difficult road for a while but she is now resting in the arms of our Lord and she has been made whole in mind and body.
