1943 – 2020

Coy Van Tolliver, 77, of Chesapeake, Ohio, formerly of Frenchburg, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 14, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family who loved him dearly.

Coy was born April 9, 1943 in Letcher County, Kentucky a son of the late Ellison and Callie Bentley Tolliver.

He was a retired drafting supervisor from Ashland Marathon. He was a 1960 graduate of the former McKell High School and a 1963 graduate of Miller Draughton Business College. He was a member of the Little Jewel Old Regular Baptist Church in Westwood, Kentucky. Coy loved the Lord and was a minister for 40 plus years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son Daren Van Tolliver; four brothers Ben, Allen, Willie and Ray Tolliver; two sisters Otie Brown and Pauline Withrow.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Brenda Sue Ramey Tolliver; one son Rodney (Marti) Tolliver of Ladoga, Indiana; two daughters Dreama (Brad) Taylor of Ashland, Kentucky and Karen (Brad) Smallwood of Mount Sterling, Kentucky; three brothers Willis (Agnes) Tolliver, Henry (Shelby) Tolliver and Don (Mary) Tolliver all of Greenup, Kentucky; two sisters June Irey of Greenup, Kentucky and Sabrina (Raymond) Kiser of Wilmington, Ohio; eleven grandchildren Josh Tolliver, Lindsey (Dalton) Bentley, Weston Tolliver, Erica (Brad) Miller, Zac (Jamie) Taylor, Callie Taylor, Michael (Taylor) Smallwood, Samantha Jo Smallwood, Seth, Heath and Brody; nine great grandchildren who were the light of their Pa-paw’s eye Gage, Carter, Hudson, Carson, Reagan, Canyon, Cash, Spencer and Wyatt; a host of nieces and nephews and family who loved him and will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, August 17, 2020 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Terry Bryant, Bro. Marty Carty, Bro. Feldon Ruggles and Bro. Keith Tipton. Burial will be in the Tolliver Cemetery in Greenup, Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home on Monday.
