Rickey Leroy Gifford

Rickey Leroy Gifford Sr., 62, of York, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 14, 2018 suddenly at his home. Rick was born November 16, 1955 in Portsmouth, Ohio a son of Lois Hayslip Gifford Jenkins and her husband Carl “Jack” who raised Rick of Buena Vista, Ohio and the late Ralph Gifford. He was a member of the Load Independent Baptist Church in Load, Kentucky where he was a deacon for many years. Rick was a heavy equipment mechanic for Associated Pipeline Inc. in West Virginia. Over the years he had done many things, he was a truck driver for several years, built houses, and farmed. He was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 18. Rick had been a part of the local horse community for many years. He put on AQHA Barrel horse shows for several years at his farm and he also rode barrel and pole horses himself for years. He loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Patricia Ann Jenkins Gifford

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Danny Brown. Burial will be in the Lemaster Cemetery at York, Kentucky.
