William "Bill" Luther

William Ray “Bill” Luther, 83, of Greenup, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 1, 2026, at his home.

Bill was born August 29, 1943, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late Arnold and Mary Belle Monk Luther.

Bill was a member of the Faith Christian Assembly Church in Flatwoods, Kentucky. Bill enjoyed setting up and selling at the local area flea markets and spending time with his family and -grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Opal Morgan Luther; a daughter Susie Crabtree; a son Robert Luther; a daughter -in-law Liwanda Tackett; several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by two sons Robert “Jody” Tackett of Wurtland, Kentucky and Jason Tackett of Somerset, Kentucky; eight daughters Alberta (David) Jointer of Lexington, Kentucky, Laura Luther of Portsmouth, Ohio, Charlena (Robert) Cunningham of Wurtland, Kentucky, Helen (Kelly) Smith of Morehead, Kentucky, Sharon Hunt of Portsmouth, Ohio, Mary Elizabeth Luther of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Bobbi (Tim) O’Donnell of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and Angela Luther of Wurtland, Kentucky; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm, Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Minister Jay Adkins. Burial will be in Plum Grove – Collins Cemetery in Greenup, Kentucky.
