Vina Marie “Granny” Thompson

Vina Marie “Granny” Thompson, 82, of Greenup, Kentucky passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Vina was born January 4, 1941, in Greenup, Kentucky a daughter of the late John Wesley and Emma Keeton Danner. Vina loved to go camping and fishing. She also enjoyed gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Cecil Thompson; four brothers Arnold Danner, Willard Danner, Harold Wayne Danner, and John Danner; four sisters Pearl Luthi, Ora Bright, Nora Barber, and Flora Hale; a grandson Dylan Boggs.

She is survived by a son James Danner of Greenup, Kentucky; three daughters Loretta (Steve) Barrett of Greenup, Kentucky, Rose (Darrell) Boggs of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, and Becky (Sean) Cremeans of Pedro, Ohio; two sisters Sarah Garvin and Winnie Picklesimer both of Greenup, Kentucky; six grandchildren Josh (Caitlin) Thompson, Troy (Caitlyn) Thompson, Jamie Boggs, Jonathan Boggs, Evan Cremeans and Brady Cremeans; three great-grandchildren Gabby, Emery, and Lilah; a close friend Mona Ackison of Greenup, Kentucky; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Larry Garvin. Burial will be in the Thompson Cemetery in Ashland, Kentucky.
