Sara Jane Roar

Sara Jane Roar, 39, of Greenup, Kentucky, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Health Care, in Lexington, Kentucky. Sara was born August 31, 1984, in Ashland, Kentucky, a daughter of Jane Carr Roar of Greenup, Kentucky and the late Ronald Roar.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Glen and Shirley Clark Carr, her paternal grandparents Walter and Betty Melvin Roar.

Sara was a 2002 graduate of Lighthouse Christian Academy and a graduate of Ohio University where she earned an associates degree in Nursing. She was employed at Lakin Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the Christian Faith Outreach Church in Ashland. Sara Loved the Lord with all her heart and lived her life as a witness for Him. She had a beautiful voice that she used to sing praises for God and to worship Him. She adored her children and always said that Dae and Kyh were the biggest blessings that God had given to her. She loved her mom and sisters and cherished the times they spent together. She worked tirelessly helping people less fortunate than her. She walked the streets of Ashland witnessing and providing food and encouragement to those in need. She witnessed to them and told them of the salvational message of Acts 2:38 and was so happy when someone would receive the Holy Ghost and be baptized in Jesus Name! She loved her church family and not just her local church family but brothers and sisters from all surrounding churches.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She has said many times that she wished she could talk with her dad about things of God, now she can stand alongside him, and worship God face to face.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband Larry Cox; a daughter Daeonah and a son Malakyh; two sisters Autumn (Dustin) Ortego and Emily Roar both of Greenup, Kentucky; a very special niece Chanel; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
