Ryan Leon “Junior” Tackett

Ryan Leon “Junior” Tackett, 59, of Raceland, Kentucky passed away, Sunday, December 4, 2022, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, surrounded by his loving family.

Junior was born December 20, 1962, in Ironton, Ohio, a son of the late Leon and Beulah Deorlene Dyer Tackett.

Junior was a 1981 graduate of Raceland High School and a member of the Greenup AmVets Post # 95 member of the American Legion Post # 43 in Raceland, Kentucky and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was employed at Castle’s Heating and Cooling Co. He loved to go camping with his family and friends. He loved listening to his granddaughter Hailey sing and play the guitar. He also was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan and loved watching the games with his son-in-laws.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Cathy Lee Tackett; two daughters Stephanie (Nicholas) Barney of Raceland, Kentucky and LeRae (Arthur) Blair of Chillicothe, Ohio; a sister Sheree (Chris) Roar of Wurtland, Kentucky; four grandchildren Hailey Barney, Alyssa Barney, Ella Barney, and Isaac Blair; many nieces, nephews, family, and friends that loved him, and will miss him greatly.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Wurtland Church of God by Bro. Chester Keathley and Bro. Marvin Boggs. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Wednesday at the Church. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup has been entrusted with the arrangements.
