Ruth Marie Gibson, 91, of Greenup, Kentucky passed away, January 2, 2025, at Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wurtland, Kentucky. Ruth was born November 12, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland, a daughter of the late John West and Elaine Wehr Dolch.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her previous husbands Thomas Rice, Ray Fleurry, and Jack Gibson; two sons Allen Melzer and Ocea Rice; one brother Ron Sigai; three sisters Elaine Dolch, Mary Shearer, and Lorraine Sanchez; and one granddaughter Charlene Martin.

 

She is survived by two sons Thomas (Susan) Rice Jr. of Maumee, Ohio and John (Brenda) Melzer of Baltimore, Maryland; one daughter Linda (Roy) Hays of Rush Kentucky, eight grandchildren James “Mike” (Lori) Meadows, Erica Hays, Olivia (Austin) Hays Legg, Emily Hays, Rachel (Matthew) Williams, Michelle (Jesse) Rucker, Nicholai Rice, and Katerina Rice; and twelve great grandchildren Amalie Meadows, Violet Meadows, Malachi Legg, Holland Legg, Hollard Legg, Amelia Lott, Olivia Lott, Glynn Rucker, Charlotte Rucker, Daniel Rucker, and Cierra Sanai.

 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
