Ross O’Dell Daugherty III

Ross O’Dell Daugherty III, of Lenoir City, Tennessee, formerly of Flatwoods, Kentucky, passed away April 9, 2026, at Foothills Rehabilitation and Nursing Care in Maryville, Tennessee from a long courageous fight with cancer. Ross was born June 15, 1960, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of the late Ross O’Dell II and Janet Austin Daugherty.
Ross was a 1978 graduate of Russell High School. Following graduation, he became a Master Plumber and dedicated many years to working throughout the Tri-State area. In later years, Ross started bidding on and purchasing abandoned storage units, turning it into a hobby he truly enjoyed. He also spent his last few years raising peacocks. Ross loved to travel and cherished the time he spent with Deb, creating lasting memories with friends along the way. He enjoyed fishing and gold panning in small rivers and creeks. Anyone who knew Ross understood what a truly special person he was: kind, funny, caring, and strong. He will be deeply missed and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ross is survived by his companion and best friend of 25 years Deb McCabe; a son Ryan Daugherty of Ashland, Kentucky; two daughters Athena (Matthew) Marvin of Seattle, Washington and Sara (Joe) Lintner-Houck of Lenoir City, Tennessee; three brothers Tim (Molly) Daugherty of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Lance (Beverly) Daugherty of Flatwoods, Kentucky, and Shanye Daugherty of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters Debbie (David) Wurts of Georgetown, Kentucky and Cindi (Alan) Virgin of Flatwoods, Kentucky; seven grandchildren Lane Lintner, Ledger Houck, Rhianna Roar, Luke Roar, Ayden Roar, Alexis Daugherty, Madison Daugherty; a host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends who loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Minister Phil Fannin. Burial will be in the Ashland Cemetery, Ashland, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00am until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
