Rita June Adams Payne

Rita June Adams Payne, 61, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, October 20, 2022, at her home.

Rita was born April 22, 1961, in Greenup, Kentucky a daughter of Arnold W. (Sally) Adams of Greenup and the late Vera Jean Stephenson Adams.

Rita was a former mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Russell, Kentucky and was a 1979 graduate of Greenup County High School. She loved her grand babies dearly. She also loved to plant and grow wildflowers.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband Larry Dean Payne and a daughter Sarah Mae Payne Akers.

In addition to her father, she is survived by a son Larry (Kayla Cordle) Payne of Greenup, Kentucky; two brothers Arnold “Buddy” (Brenda) Adams of Richmond, Kentucky and Charles “Chuck” (Crystal) Adams of Ironton, Ohio; two sisters Denise (Wayne) Barnett and Candi (Jerry Brian ) Riffe both of Greenup, Kentucky’ seven grandchildren Leslie Payne, Kobe Payne, Micah Brown, Hunter Russell, Taylor Long, Stephanie Akers and Amanda Akers; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her and will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Bro. Ron Ball. Burial will be in the Caroline Cemetery in Raceland, Kentucky.
