Rickey Dean Reed



Rickey Dean Reed, 58, of Paris, Kentucky, formerly of Worthington, Kentucky passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, at his home. Rickey was born October 19, 1964, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of the late John Sr. and Gladys Griffith Reed.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henry and Ella (Sizemore) Griffith; his parental grandmother Neva (Sammons) Richards; a sister Carol Lee Reed Allen; a brother Stanley Reed, and a sister-in-law Dretha Salyers Reed.


Rickey was a 1982 graduate of Raceland High School and was employed at E-Z Pack in Cynthiana, Kentucky. He loved to hunt and fish year around. He was so excited when his ticket was finally drawn to hunt Elk in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He was an avid Las Vegas Raiders fan. Rickey was a wonderful father who loved his daughters dearly, Hannah, Emma, and Haley. Rickey loved his family, and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife Allison Hurst Reed; two daughters Hannah (Scott) Dill, and Emma Reed both of Ocala, Florida; one brother J.R. (Cathy) Reed of Greenup, Kentucky; two special stepchildren Haley Kitchen and Tyler Kitchen of Paris, Kentucky; his first grandbaby / grandson Bennett Dean Dill which is due in August; a special step nephew Ethan “Nash” Hurst who he loved riding 4-wheelers, taking walks and hikes with; a host of nieces and nephews; his beloved dogs “Duke”, “Rhino”, and “Hercules”.


Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am, Monday, June 12, 2023, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Minister Mike Dennis. Visitation will be from 6:00 -8:00 pm Sunday and one hour before the service on Monday.
