Patty Rae Fisher
Patty Rae Fisher, 88, of Raceland, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Oakmont Manor Nursing Home in Flatwoods, Kentucky. Patty was born September 7, 1934, in Wurtland, Kentucky a daughter of the late Gabriel Ray and Helen Mae Holt Cox.
Patty was a 1952 graduate of Wurtland High School. She was a member of Kenwood Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir as well as played as the organist and pianist for many years, along with coordinating Vacation Bible School every year. Her and her husband, Joe, played and sang together at many churches, weddings, local games, and even on the radio with Bro. Lee A. Gore. She grew up in Wurtland Missionary Baptist Church and was a former member and pianist at Raceland First Baptist. She graduated from Ashland Community and Technical College as a registered nurse. She loved tirelessly working as a nurse and caring for other people. She had a deep passion for helping others and loved her career at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital for many many years. She worked with patients in Home Health for 10 years and Riverbend Nursing Home in South Point, Ohio after she retired. She was a substitute teacher for many years at the local school systems. Patty was a cheerleading sponsor for the former Wurtland High School and Raceland High School. She was in a bowling league at Blue Ribbon Lanes and Spare Time for many years. She was an avid University of Kentucky fan who loved attending UK football and basketball games with her husband. She was very faithful in her children and grandchildren’s lives including sporting events, horse shows, recitals, and anything they were involved in.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Larry Joe Fisher, Sr.; one brother Hubert Stanley Cox; infant daughter Jessica Rae Fisher; one brother-in-law Donnie Fisher Sr.; and son-in-law Roger Reed.

Five great grandchildren
Austin Shope, Abigal “Abbie” Daniels, Joseph Daniels, Jesse Fisher, and Weston Whittaker.
Two great grandchildren on the way, a girl due in September and a boy due in February.
Several nieces and nephews
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Bro. Danny Brown. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time on Saturday. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
