Nellie Mae Brown

Nellie Mae Brown, 99, Of Oldtown, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Kingsbrook Life Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

Nellie was born January 15, 1927, in Oldtown, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Joseph and Myrtle Prince Harris

Nellie attended Hopewell Holiness Mission Church.  She enjoyed farming and spending time with her family, who she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leslie Brown; two brothers Charles Harris and Clifford Harris; a sister Elenora Stapleton; a son-in-law Bob Bailey and a special friend Josephine Hannah Cindelair.

She is survived by a son Marvin (Betty) Brown of Wurtland, Kentucky; two daughters Drema Bailey of Flatwoods, Kentucky and Priscilla Brown of Oldtown, Kentucky; two grandchildren Dale (Anna) Brown and Shawn (Angela) Bailey; five great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm, Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Minister Delmar Rogers. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00am until service time at the funeral home.
