Mornie Mae Robinson, 97, of Worthington, Kentucky passed away June 8, 2026, at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Mae was born on September 8, 1928, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Amos and Curtis Allen. She was a member of Wurtland Missionary Baptist Church and member of the Greenup County Women’s Democrat Club. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time working in her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lester Robinson; one son John Gregory Carpenter; two brothers Joe Allen and Amos Allen Jr.; three sisters Gwendolyn Leadingham, Mary Lou Walsh, and Viginia Crawford; one step son Lester Robinson Jr.; one son in law Gale Virgin; and one grandson Josh Bates.
She is survived by one son Robert “Bobby” (Ellen) Carpenter of Worthington, Kentucky; three daughters Gayle Carpenter Virgin of Greenup, Kentucky, Treva (Paul) Bates of Argillite, Kentucky, and Johnda (Mark) Bates of Greenup, Kentucky; one step daughter Sherry (James) Wells; eight grandchildren Todd (Tiffany) Virgin, Tonja (Brian) McCloud, Traci (Shane) Bruckner, Jeremy Bates, Shawnda (Nick) Warnock, Shayne (Chloe) Bates, Staci (Nathan) Imel, Cody (Sharon) Bates; two grandchildren Leslie (Heath)Scarberry and Jamie Wells; twenty two great grandchildren Zachary (Heather) Virgin, Payton (Wade) Reed, Sophia Virgin, Madeline McCloud, Isabella McCloud, Van Bruckner, Ashley (Blake) Bates, Bradley (Megan) Bates, Caden Warnock, Cali Warnock, Kaylee Bates, Aiden Bates, Addy Bates, Bash Bates, Penelope Bates, Sutton (Alex) Chapman, Hudson Imel Jude Imel, Josie Bates, Cameron Bates, Liv Bates, Charlie Bates; seven great great grandchildren Genevive Virgin, Gavin Reed, Ella James Chapman, Sadie Young, Cash Young, Blakely Young, and Tessa Bates three great great grandchildren Braelyn Scarberry, Karen Scarberry, and Laikyn Scarberry.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Minister Hayden Hunt. Burial will be in Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time on Friday.
