Melissa Irene Swanner

Melissa Irene Swanner, 58, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, passed away Friday, June 5, 2026, at Oho State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Melissa was born May 21, 1968, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Betty Allen Lockert.

Melissa was a wonderful wife and mother. She never met a stranger and made friends everywhere she went.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Robert Earl Lockert and Anthony Gilbert Lockert and a sister Sharon Rose Seasor.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend for 42 years Charles William “Chuck” Swanner; her two sons Kenneth Earl (Tiffany Clark) Lockert II and Charles Wesley Lockert both of Wheelersburg. Ohio; three grandchildren who she adored and will be remembered by Alexander Matthew Lockert, Trinity Paige Plew, and Maddison Nacole Lockert; as well as an aunt and many nieces, nephews, closely adored friends, family, and loved ones. She will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Cedar Street Church Fellowship Hall in New Boston, Ohio. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
