Marilyn Sue Stephenson, 73, of Russell, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Marilyn was born October 10, 1951, in Raceland, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William and Edna Short Keeton. She was a 1969 graduate of Raceland High School, whose classmates still meet once a month for lunch. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Russell. Marilyn graduated from Morehead State University with a degree in Elementary Education. After getting her degree she taught 3rd grade at Greysbranch Elementary School for over 30 years.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother Merle “Mick” Keeton and five sisters Vivian Barney, Rose Stevens, Janet Keen, Cheryl Young, and Linda Womack.

 

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years David R. Stephenson; one son Brandon Stephenson of Russell, Kentucky; one daughter Tracey Keith of Russell, Kentucky; one sisters Brenda (Jack) Crockett of Flatwoods, Kentucky; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com.
