Leona “Karen” Crum

Leona “Karen” Crum, 82, of Greenup, Kentucky passed away Wednesday June 3, 2026, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Leona was born February 11, 1944, in Wurtland, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Thomas C. and Virginia Lykins Baumgardner. She was a 1962 graduate of Wurtland High School. She was a member of Advance Methodist Church in Flatwoods, Kentucky where she as a faithful volunteer for VBS and a member of Suzanne Circle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers Leon Baumgardner, Lewis Baumgardner, and Tommy Baumgardner; seven sisters Lois McKenzie, May Bradley, Ava Cambell, Nadine Jones, Jenny Robinson, Phyllis Compton, and Wilma Duty.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years David Eugene Crum; one son David Matthew (Nancy) Crum of Bellefonte, Kentucky; one sister-in-law Kathryn (Arthur) Boggs of Argillite, Kentucky; two grandchildren Emily Ann (Trey) Dangerfield of Cedar Grove, West Virginia and Justin Porter Crum of Bellefonte, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Garden in Flatwoods, Kentucky.
