Joy Ann Riggs

Joy Ann Riggs, 85, of Wurtland, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, November 10, 2025, at UK Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky surrounded by her loving family. Joy was born July 25, 1940, in Wurtland, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Earl and Iowa Elkins Barber.

Joy was a 1958 graduate of the former Wurtland High School and was a member of the Flatwoods First Church of the Nazarene. Joy retired from Ashland Oil in Russell, Kentucky where she was a Data Supervisor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Lee Riggs; two brothers Ronald G. Barber and Ermal Barber.

She is survived by her son Jeff Riggs of Wurtland, Kentucky; a sister Lois Barber of Prichard, West Virginia; a sister-in-law Eileen Barber of Haver Hill, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00pm, Friday, November 14, 2025, at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, Kentucky by Paster Roger Bonzo. Reed Funeral Home in Greenup has been entrusted with the services.
