Inez “Sissie” Avanelle Tussey

Inez “Sissie” Avanelle Tussey, 88, of Greenup, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. Inez was born March 8, 1936, in the same house in Greenup where she and her husband lived, a daughter of the late Millard and Matilda Osborne Archey.


Inez was co-owner with her husband Les of the former Tussey Grocery Store in Greenup and was a member of the Load Church of Christ Church. Inez was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved working in the garden and with her flowers. Every summer she kept the hummingbird’s fed around her front porch.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers Donald, William, Adam, and Hobert Archey and three sisters Ida Lyons, Violet Archey, and Thelma Archey.


She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years Leslie Woodrow Tussey; four sons Harold (Sherlyn) Tussey of Ashland, Kentucky, Daryl Leslie (Ronda)Tussey of Clarksville, Tennessee, Marvin (Kim) Tussey of Lloyd, Kentucky , and Dale (Barb) Tussey of Lloyd, Kentucky; two daughters Virginia "Genny" Louise Mikos of Tampa, Florida and Donna (Tim) Marshall of Greenup, Kentucky; two brothers Lester (Sherri) Archey and Norman Archey both of Greenup, Kentucky; two sisters Laverne Boyles and Clara (Mike) Gerber both of Greenup, Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.


Funeral service will conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Minister Robbie Bond. Burial will be in Warnock Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday and one hour before the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be made at www.rlrfuneralhome.com
