Georgia Lovelo Burkhardt

Georgia Lovelo Burkhardt, 88, of Wurtland, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. Lovelo was born July 9, 1935, in Chattaroy, West Virginia a daughter of the late Lovell and Georgia Pack Carter.

Lovelo was a member of the Wurtland Freewill Baptist Church and was a 1953 graduate of the former Wurtland High School.

Lovelo loved the Lord and loved singing gospel music.  Her and her husband Raymond was “The Praying Hands” gospel group and they sang and played gospel music all over the Tri-State area for 40 years. Lovelo was a wonderful wife and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother George Carter and a sister Lowlo Lou Carter.

She is survived by her very loving husband of 66 years Raymond E, Burkhardt; a brother Larry (Brenda) Carter of Middletown, Ohio; a sister Gail (Aaron) Harris of Greenup, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.

Private graveside service for family and church family will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Plum Grove – Collins Cemetery by Minister David Morrison and Pastor Randy Smith.
