Garnett Marie Rickett

Garnett Marie Rickett, 59, of South Portsmouth, Kentucky, passed away Monday, June 29, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Garnett was born May 16, 1967, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of Dollie Marie Clark Porter of South Shore, Kentucky and the late James Edward Porter Sr.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband Earnest L. Rickett; four brothers James Edward Porter Jr., Donald Alfred Porter, Ronald Lee Porter and Ricky Ray Porter. Garnett was a very loving and strong mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her mother she is survived by two daughters Ashley Rickett and Jennifer Rickett both of South Portsmouth, Kentucky; a brother Terry Allen Porter of South Shore, Kentucky; two sisters Susie Ann Porter of Quincy, Kentucky and Peggy Porter of South Portsmouth, Kentucky; six grandchildren James Wayatt Brown, Natalee Macole Rickett, Garrett Lee Rickett, Abbagail Page Rickett, RaeLynn Marie Ricket, and Bayleigh Renee Brown; a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00pm, Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Crystal Dawn Cemetery in Quincy, Kentucky by Minister Raymond Lewis.

Reed Funeral Home in Greenup has been entrusted with the services.
