Elmer Ray Kazee

Elmer Ray Kazee, 71, of Greenup County Kentucky went to walk alongside his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 12, 2025, following a fatal collision on US 23.

Elmer was born on April 15, 1954, to the late Oscar and Shirley Sparks Kazee in Greenup, Ky living a full and wonderful life. Preceded also in death by his brother, Daryl Kazee, and son, Gregory Shane Kazee.

To those closest to him, he was known well for his gentle strength of character. Even through life's difficult chapters, it was rare you didn't catch Elmer with a soft smile and kindness radiating from his eyes. His friendly spirit could put anyone at ease whether it be at Greenup Co High School where he graduated in 1972, his many years at Marathon Ashland Petroleum where he retired as a machinist, throughout his travels all over the United States seeking out more of God's natural beauty and wildlife, or his favorite pastime of hunting, or fishing on a lake alongside his favorite people- his wife, children, and grandchildren. Like the stillness of the water, Elmer Kazee could bring calm to any storm.

Notably, he pulled his strength and integrity from the mornings he spent reading his bible each day, allowing him the ability to blanket his family and friends in such comfort and love.

In addition to his favorite pastimes, there was nothing Elmer cherished more than his wife Glenda Kazee of 52 years, his children, and his grandchildren whom he's survived by: Wife, Glenda (Diller) Kazee of Greenup, Ky. Son, Adam Kazee (Jennifer) of Greenup, Ky. Granddaughter, Jessica Tolliver-Holstine (Kreigh) of Georgetown, Ky. Granddaughter, Shay Kazee of Greenup, Ky. Grandson, Tyler Kazee of Wheelersburg, Oh. Granddaughter, Leslie Wright (Bruce) of Greenup, Ky. Grandson Rodney Lambert Jr (Alexandria) of Greenup, Ky. Grandson, Mason Kazee of Portsmouth, Oh. Granddaughter, Anna Kazee of Lucasville, Oh. A Very Special Grandson, Christian Kazee of Greenup, Ky. Great-Grandson, Brantley Kazee. Great-Grandson, Connor Kazee. Great-Granddaughter, Charley Keim. Great-Grandson, Ben Kenyon, Great-Granddaughter, Willow Lambert. Great-Granddaughter, Lawson Lambert. Great-Granddaughter, Aila Holstine. Among a sea of friends and colleagues who loved him well, and he loved dearly.

A true reverent man, Elmer Kazee is now at peace with the best view on creation we will ever know.
